Georeferenced Objects at MAK Vienna

Files generated by Geographic Information Systems (GIS) allow to elaborate landscapes in much the same way as can be done for smaller scale objects by means of 3D CAD software. This project explores the resulting entanglement between location, the macro scale (landscape) and the micro scale (domestic object), as well as local food production. It does so by creating “localized” object shapes for the domestic context; in this case a location-based landscaped platform for locally grown fruit.

The project was exhibited at the MAK (Museum für Angewandte Kunst) in Vienna in 2009 and is now part of the permanent collection of the museum.
